We Have Tags!

Many thanks to my sister who whipped up these tags for The Blanket Brigade.  PLEASE make sure you get one for your blanket!  If you're donating from afar email me at and I'll send you the file to print out, fill out, and send with your blanket.  If you see me (or a helper!) directly to drop off/pick up your blanket I'll have plenty on hand, and if you're donating at St. Paul, there will be a small box next to the donation box with tags and pens to fill them out.

Mallory is a busy bee backing them with scrapbook paper to make them pretty.

Fill out your name, age, and where you're from

Include it in your bag and we'll make sure
the recipient of your blanket gets your card!

A Note From Lurie's

Please read this tip from my contact at the Children's Hospital.  We don't want to see your efforts go to waste!

It is very important to stress to all members of Blanket Brigade to make sure their blankets are completely dry before they put them in plastic bags. Fleece has a tendency to retain moisture and sometimes it feels warm and dry fresh out of the dryer but it isn't completely dry. Then, occasionally, when we open donated plastic bags, we pull out soggy and foggy blankets that we have to dispose of. Just a tip!

Mallory has been telling everyone she knows about The Blanket Brigade.

Yesterday she had a conversation with her teacher:
"Mrs. Morris, do you know how to do a Blanket Brigade?"
"Well, Mallory, I can't say that I do."
"If I can do it, you can do it!"

Today at her little brother's appointment with the pediatrician she proudly told him about our project.  He got down at her eye level and told her that she was doing a good thing and that he was sure these blankets were going to keep the kids feeling safe and warm.  He even invited her to make a flyer for the office and said they'd help her. (Guess what we're working on this afternoon!)

My hope when we started this is that it would be a project that people could work on together; couples and families while watching a favorite Christmas movie, moms and their kids of all ages, classrooms, scout troops, girlfriends....  and that hope is coming to fruition.  I'm loving the stories coming in of how and where these blankets are being made!
